Hi, I’m Kate.

I’m the kind of person who notices things. The peacock perched on the bed of a pickup truck during a mid-day walk. The exact shade the sky turns at the end of a long day. The type choice that’s doing more work than anyone thought it would.

I’ve spent the last 8+ years designing for brands that need to mean something. Not just look good, but hold up when you look closer and feel unmistakably themselves at every size and touchpoint. I’m a senior brand designer and art director based in Los Angeles, and my work spans tech, healthcare, and consumer— with teams at Oyster HR, Bloom Farms, and Weber Shandwick— but the thread running through all of it stays the same: I care about visual storytelling at the system level. There’s just something about an identity that travels, a campaign that resonates, and that one illustration element that works so well that you can’t get it out of your head.

HOW I WORK

I sketch first. I get attached to ideas second. I like to ask the questions that feel too obvious, test before I’m ready, and try to stay curious longer than is comfortable. The work I’m proudest of is always both things at once— structured enough to scale and alive enough to feel like someone made it.

I like:
visual systems built to scale
storytelling craft at every level
brand identity that holds a world together
collaboration that makes the work better than either of us planned

WHERE I'M GOING

I’m drawn to work where the visual system works to hold a whole world together, where the design extends something people already love, or builds something they didn’t know they needed yet.

If that sounds like the kind of person you're looking for— let’s connect!
